AUDIENCE OF ONE: Evolution Of A Songwriter includes eleven (11) original scripture-inspired songs written and arranged by Paula Mills. More than just a collection of songs, this project stands as a fully developed theme surrounding her passionate pursuit to live for the Lord and how it led to her evolution as a songwriter. The album reflects her reverence in worship, passion to encourage and pursuit towards being an overcomer. It takes you on a spiritual journey through the eyes of the songwriter who has enlisted the voices of some of God’s anointed vessels as instruments to beautifully orchestrate an amazing worship experience.

The album is perfectly balanced with songs that are uplifting like “Glory”, “More Than Enough”, “You’re My God” and “Greater God”; offers God’s comfort with “Bless His Name” and “Spirit, Rain” and provokes reverence in the hearts and souls of the listeners with “Audience of One”, “Enter In”, “Unto Level Ground” and “I Will Praise Thee”. The family-recorded bonus track “Overcomer” is an inspiring testament to their spiritual race which they hope will encourage listeners to stay in the fight while keeping their eyes on the prize that will lead to the salvation of their souls. Paula’s desire is to see the Lord use this project to touch every facet of praise, worship, prayer and faith by blessing people’s hearts and, with the Word of God, transform the lives of the listeners.

Songwriter's Testimony

As a servant of the Lord, who always seeks to do that which is pleasing to God, I have been called to serve in unfamiliar ways which have oftentimes taken me out of my comfort zone. Despite the various ways in which I’ve been called to serve God, none could have fully prepared me for such an assignment. This assignment is something beyond my imagination and required an increased amount of faith in God’s Word, to see it through. It required me to abide in some dark and difficult places that at times caused me to question whether I would be able to withstand the pressure that came once I chose to surrender to His Will and His Way. Although sometimes as small as a mustard seed, faith kept me going; knowing that God would pull me out when He was done using me. I can truly look back now and say with certainty that it was part of God’s plan to prepare me as I realize that it’s only in dark places the brightness of one’s light can truly shine and illuminate its surroundings.

Although I have not been blessed with the gift of singing, my love for music has always been evident. Unfortunately, due to my lack of prior knowledge and experience in music, I encountered many struggles surrounding insecurities and self-doubt. Negative voices in my mind progressively increased in volume, leaving me to question whether my best would be good enough as a result of people choosing to determine whether I was qualified based on the standards of man rather than those of God. But our Heavenly Father, being all knowing, knew that this process was necessary in order to uproot anything inside me that would hinder my willingness to accept His assignment. He had to bring it to the surface and make it visible so that it could be removed; leaving space for Him to plant good seeds in areas that were once filled with choking weeds. I was evolving into unused sheet music which He could pen His lyrics to with no concern that I would try to wrestle the writing instrument from His hands. The one thing I accredit to myself, is that I did not shy away from God’s request to use me in this manner but exercised my free-will in obedience to Him. Although the process that led to my evolution as a songwriter was not easy, it was necessary and gave me constant assurance that what I was professing to do in my Father’s Name was in His Will as it is so easy for the glory to be taken off of God and placed on man. I continue to be in awe that God considered me to be a vessel worthy to give life to a project of this magnitude. I pray that your heart and soul will be uplifted, encouraged and comforted as you embark on this amazing worship experience. Listen and be blessed!
